Sevierville Middle School has had a
computer
lab since 1999. The PTO raised the money to purchase the lab for the
students
of SMS. The children have a scheduled computer lab time three times per
week and during that time the students learn and develop:
- Keyboarding skills
- How to use programs on the computer
(i.e. Microsoft
Word, Powerpoint, Paint etc.)
- How a computer works
- How to use the internet to research
information and
complete projects
- How to create webpages
- How to use a digital camera
- Presentation Skills
The Computer Lab is open two days per week
for teachers
to bring their entire class to the lab to work on projects, do
research,
type papers or visit websites relevant to their unit of
study.
