Team Tennessee AAU Junior, Middle School, and High School Division State Tournament Information

Date: March 15, 2008

THIS IS NOT AN OPEN EVENT. A WRESTLER MUST PLACE IN THE TOP 4 OF THEIR REGIONAL TOURNAMENT TO COMPETE IN THIS EVENT.

Site: Tullahoma High School in Tullahoma, Tennessee

Weigh-ins:     Friday night, March 14, 2008.

Weigh-in Times:    5 – 8:15 PM in the time zone that you will be weighing in. For example, if weigh-in on Friday night at Pigeon Forge High School, then the time will be based on the Eastern Time Zone.

Weigh-in Site: Satellite weigh-in sites have been established in each region. Any wrestler may choose to weigh-in at their Regions appointed weigh-in site or they may weigh-in at the site of the State Tournament.

State tournament weigh-in sites for each Region will be as follows:
North Region –Karns High School
East Region – Pigeon Forge HS Wrestling Building
South Region – Chattanooga Central High School
West Region –Tullahoma and Father Ryan High Schools
ï‚· All coaches are encouraged to attend the weigh-ins. There will be a member of the Team Tennessee Board of Directors present at all the weigh-in sites. Each wrestler will have 1 chance to weigh-in. They may challenge on any other scale(s) that are being used for weigh-ins but they will have only one chance to challenge.
ï‚· Wrestlers must weigh-in in their singlet and will be given a 1 pound allowance. For example, a wrestler wanting to compete in the 55 lb class can weigh 56 lbs with their singlet on.

Entry Fee:    Entry fee is $12. Entry fee must be paid before a wrestler will be allowed to weigh-in for the event. No personal checks will be accepted.

Brackets:    Will be constructed on Friday night following weigh-ins. All weigh-in sites are to email their tournament entries to Vance Tisdale by no later than 8:30 PM in the time zone that the weigh-ins took place. Brackets will be posted early Saturday morning, so when the wrestlers and parents arrive on Saturday, the brackets and mat assignments will already be posted.

Wrestling Format:    7 or 8 Mats will be used. Brackets to be used( round-robin, 8 man, etc.), will be based on the number of entries in each weight class in each division.

* Coaches, if you know if one of your wrestlers that entered but will not be wrestling, please notify the Tournament Director ASAP.
*any wrestler not showing up for the state event, their match will go down as a forfeit.
*A wrestler will be given 2 minutes to report to their assigned mat for competition. Coaches and Parents are encouraged to help their wrestlers keep up with their mat assigments and when to report to their mats. Failing to do so could end in up with that match being forfeited to their opponent.
