SPELLING
CONTRACT
This is your spelling contract. You must complete at
least 5 of the
following activities by Friday each week. One of these will
be your definitions. When you complete all
5
activities, staple them together and turn them in. You may put as many
activities on one page as you like as long as there is a separation
between each one. Clearly label each activity.
Make sure to spell all words correctly on each
activity. Messy work will not be accepted, so do
your best the first time.
Regardless of the 4 other activities you choose, all
your
spelling words (30) must
be used at least twice. All words used inside writings such as stories,
articles, headlines, and sentences should be underlined or highlighted.
These activities are meant to help you prepare for
your test on
Fridays. Do not wait until Thursday night to do all of them. This will
STRESS out your family and you!
*Requirement:
Define all 30 words each week by Friday, and prepare to be quizzed
over them.
Choose 4 of the
following, and follow
directions for each activity
carefully.
1. ABC order or
Reverse ABC order (not both)
using all words
2. 3 times each in cursive for each word
3. 3 times each in different colors for each word
4. Spelling flashcard for each word
5. Picture words for at least 20 words
6. Special letters (bubble, block, etc) for each word
7. Design a bookmark using each word.
8. Words in shapes (Write all words in a shape instead of in a line.)
9. Write a sentence using each word. (Words
must be used in context and
sentences make sense.)
10. Use dictionary to find guidewords for at least 10 words (Ex. Lone -
pg. 514, loge – long)
11. Word search using all words ~Must use www.puzzlemaker.com
12. Letter to friend using at least 10 words (Must have a good flow and make sense)
13. List a synonym for each word. (These
cannot be made up, and you
must list your source.)
14. List an antonym for each word. (These cannot be made up, and
you must list your source.)
15. Write a newspaper article using at least 10 words.
16. Write a great story using at least 10 words. (Must have a good flow and make sense)
17. Write a variety of newspaper headlines using at least 15
words.
18. PowerPoint with at least 10 words and their definitions.

A grade will be given that corresponds to the
amount
of activities you complete.
Here is how your spelling contract will be graded:
5 activities = 100%
4 activities = 80%
3 activities = 60%
2 activities = 40%
