Arrival
-Line up in the back of my room and wait
quietly for permission to sit at your desk.
-Upon permission to sit, take your seat
quietly.
-Immediately begin your “bell-ringer” activity.
Dismissal
-I will dismiss you, not the bell.
-When you are dismissed you may not leave
until your area is clean.
-Exit in an orderly fashion with no pushing,
shoving, or horseplay.
Bell-Ringer
Activity
-The Literature bell-ringer activity each
day will be completed in your assigned folder.
-Upon entering class you will immediately
complete the activity.
-At the end of each week I will collect
the weeks activities. They should all be on the same sheet of paper
and each labeled by date.
Extra Credit
-Students can get every test and quiz signed
for 5 points of extra credit.
-There will be other opportunities for extra
credit throughout the year.
Grades will
come from the following:
-Daily activities in class.
-Tests, Quizzes, and Special Projects
-Bell Ringer Activities (graded at least
3 times a six weeks)
Paper Collection
Papers will be collected in one of the following
ways:
-Collected by the teacher.
-Collected by a student.
-Passed down the row to the left.
Students on the ends of rows will then pass the papers to the student in
the front, left seat.
-Placed in a designated folder.
Make-Up Work
-It is the responsibility of the student
to gather missing assignments/make-up work and turn them in on time.
-If a student misses a test or quiz, they
need to see me during homeroom time or at the end of class to schedule
a make-up day.
Planners
Planners are to be filled in daily and will
be checked on Friday’s during extended homeroom. Each student will be given
an incentive sheet with 20 squares on it at the beginning of each six weeks.
This sheet will fill up according to how well the students have kept up
with their assignments. They will expire on the last day of the six
weeks. It can only replace an assignment already complete.
It does not exempt the student from any assignment.
4 stamps/stickers=Everything is filled out appropriately with a signature.
3 stamps/stickers=Everything is filled out appropriately but it does not have a signature.
2 stamps/stickers=Some subjects are filled out with a parent signature.
1 stamp/sticker=Some subjects are filled
out without a parent signature.
Paper Heading
-All papers should be labeled in the top,
right-hand corner.
-You should put your name, date, homeroom,
and assignment.

Returning Papers
-Papers will be passed back every 3-5 days. Each student will have a folder with his/her graded work in it.
Restroom Breaks
-You are expected to go to the restroom
during the designated break times.
-If there is an emergency and you have to
go you must ask permission and sign in/out.
-Raise your hand to ask permission and do
not interrupt a lesson unless it is an emergency.
Student Needs
-If you need to do any of the following,
you may do so without permission ONLY if you are independently working
at your seat:
-sharpen your pencil
-throw trash away
-get a kleenex
Snacks and Drinks
in the Classroom
-Those with PAWS cards may have drinks and
snacks on the appropriate days.
-Snacks and drinks may be purchased at the
beginning of seventh period with teacher permission.
-All drink cans should be emptied in the
sink before placing in the trash can.
-Snack privileges will be taken away if
snacks or drinks are left in the room.
Talking
-There should be no talking during a lesson
or when someone else is speaking.
-During independent work there should be
minimal talking and it should relate to the assignment.
-There is absolutely no talking during tests
or quizzes.
